Acadian Construction and Engineering began in 1979 when David Rivard, a union ironworker since 1966, founded Steel Reinforcing Incorporated (SRI), a union signatory construction firm specializing in concrete steel reinforcing and structural steel erection in San Francisco, California. The company continued to evolve and by 2004, having constructed the “main frame” of significant public works projects in, arguably, the seismic capital of the U.S., we grew to include other trades and general contracting for commercial, industrial and government projects throughout the U.S. and abroad.
We have built long-lasting relationships with clients based upon our strong performance and now build with more than concrete, steel and glass. Clients ask us to perform other services and provide solutions that add value to their projects across the nation. We maintained our company tradition in large scale commercial building since 1979, where the majority of our employees have remained as trade journeyman graduates. We require trade professionals on every site.
